For our 35th anniversary, we invite you to a free evening that promises to be as festive as it is unforgettable.
We can’t wait to show you everything this grand celebration has in store, set against the magnificent neo-Gothic backdrop of St. George’s Church. On November 26, we promise an inspiring and vibrant evening where art, tributes, and celebration will come together.
We don’t want to spoil the surprise, but here’s a little preview of what awaits you!
First, the atmosphere will be magical thanks to live music by an outstanding duo of musicians! Throughout the cocktail hour, Barbada’s entertainment promises to be colorful! You’ll also enjoy dancing, moving tributes that will touch you—maybe even as powerfully as the church organ at St. George’s! And many more surprises are in store!
This evening is more than just a cocktail—it’s a moment to honor our past, savor our present, and imagine the future together. Through the memories of those who paved the way, the music that stirs our emotions, and the dance that frees our bodies and souls, the night will be filled with surprises and emotion.
In the late 1980s, the HIV/AIDS situation in Montreal and Quebec was marked by a major health and social crisis. The virus primarily affected men who have sex with men, but also impacted people who used injectable drugs and those who had received contaminated blood transfusions.
In response, three men mobilized with strong conviction: to offer a space of support, dignity, and solidarity. Thus, on January 1st, 1991, Louis-Marie Gagnon, Rourk Simon, and Roger Poirier founded Maison Plein Cœur, then located in a simple apartment on Panet Street in Montreal.
Since its founding, Maison Plein Cœur has always adapted to the changing realities of HIV/AIDS and the needs of those we support.
Today, the aging of these individuals, combined with challenges related to mental health, substance use, and homelessness, adds to the obstacles Maison Plein Cœur must overcome to adapt to this new reality.
Join us to celebrate these 35 years of history!
The event will take place from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM on November 26, 2025, at St. George’s Church, 1101 Stanley Street, Montreal (Peel or Bonaventure metro).
